About Narwhal Media Group
With over 22 years of public relations and business development experience, Narwhal Media Group was started (and is still run by) PR and media expert Jennifer Gooding.
Started in Los Angeles, continued in Austin, and now based out of New York City on Madison Ave., she and her team have achieved tens of millions of ROI for nonprofits and companies ranging in size from startups to those on the Fortune 100 list – obtaining full-page, profile pieces and other extensive media coverage in sought-after outlets including Bloomberg TV, BBC, CNN, The Economist, Entrepreneur, INC., Fast Co., Financial Times of London, Forbes, Fortune, Smart Money, 60 Minutes, TechCrunch, TIME, The Today Show, and The Wall Street Journal.
Eleven of her 22 years of PR experience has been spent positioning companies to achieve their first or next round of funding or acquisition. The entire team has a strong foundation of understanding how Investor Relations are inextricably tied to Public Relations. She also represents publicly traded companies on the NASDAQ.
Jennifer leads the company by drawing on expertise built over two decades in PR – a rare, uninterrupted career in the same field which began at only 21 years of age running the Comms department for the third largest, oldest nonprofit in the United States: The Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Los Angeles.
Before launching her own firm, she was one of only two publicists who launched the crowdfunding craze by representing the team who wrote the legislation which President Obama later enacted into law. She has since directed every aspect of several successful, six-figure crowdfunding campaigns.
She launched DJI drones into the massive global success they are now, bringing them from their first million in revenue to their first 800 million, making them a household name in the process.
Jennifer is an active mentor, speaker, teacher, and judge for the three largest startup accelerators in the world (Founder Institute, Mass Challenge and Startup Bootcamp).
She began her advanced education in journalism, graduating with honors from Pepperdine University with a degree in Public Relations and Nonprofit Business Management. Additionally, she holds an event planning credential from UCLA. She now lives in NYC, the largest business media hub in the world, with the ability to meet with major media in person and host media tours.
Her team includes some of the top media experts in the world, including former lead business reporters for business journals, CNN, BBC and USA Today to name just a few. They help guide strategy, refine pitches and co-lead media training for clients.
The Narwhal Media Group team also has experts in videography, SEO and startup consulting – each with at least 15 years of experience guiding major companies.

Elijah started his 20+ year career in PR and marketing as a PR specialist at his alma mater, the University of Southern California, where he served as liaison to the film industry. In 2006 he moved to Austin where he served as Director of Communications for a healthcare startup and helped to launch the Austin Entrepreneur Network. He then went on to become VP of an advertising agency and CMO of YTexas before becoming an entrepreneur himself and co-founding The Experience Firm.
Over the last 10 years, The Experience Firm has designed word-of-mouth marketing campaigns for big brands like T-Mobile, Bud Light, Mattel, Alienware, Dell, Ubisoft, Warner Bros, Reddit and Twitch, as well as launch events for a host of startups. In 2019, the firm helped to create and launch Funded House at SXSW for the express purpose of connecting investors and startups. After several years of SXSW, and a couple of international entrepreneur/investor matching trips, the decision was made to launch Funded House as a stand-alone company with Elijah at the helm in 2024.
Now, as Co-Founder and CEO of Funded House, Elijah is using his many years of experience in communications to help investors and entrepreneurs connect more effectively and communicate in the same terms. Methodologies he created to that end—including the POG Model, TUD Index, and Growth Viability Assessment™—are now taught at University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University, and Austin Community College, where Elijah is an adjunct professor.
